  2. Also, Dan, you might want to change the comment font color on this bad boy...

  3. Response to The (underwater) Giver: The old man on the front looks like he might be from The Old Man and the Sea.

Response to Font Color: done & done.

  4. OK ... so, just reading through the first three chapters, I forgot just how CREEPY this town is! i never read this as a child, and am curious to know how I would have reacted to it the first time I read through it.

now, I can read through and think, "wow, that's creepy! but I already knew that." but what about when I was 5/6th grade?

    thoughts.

  5. I haven't started it but I'm bringing it work to read on my lunch break!

I do, however, remember the town being super el creepo. More thoughts to come.

  6. WE HAVE A PROBLEM PEOPLE!!!..

    ... well it's more like I have a problem.
#1. i couldn't find my book... i know it is somewhere... where? I do not know.. but I'm sure it will turn up sooner or later but prob not before the deadline of our book club. So i said to myself "kyle, this is not a problem. I will just go down to the local library and pick up a copy"

#2.I went to the library and THEY DON'T HAVE IT!!! what! what kind of a library is this... i'll answer. a lame one. So i left my number with Merna (the ancient town librarian who knows every fact about every person who has ever lived in our small town of Alpha) who is going to keep an eye out for it and call me if she finds it.

#3. I'm afraid Merna will find it which means that she will call me and in the process tell me how joe damassi from the 3rd grade is doing in the police academe/ yell at me (again) cause my brother still owes a fine from keeping "The Joy Luck Club" out way pass due back in 1994. May i remind you the fine amount comes to a whopping $1.00.... maybe $0.50 was added for interest... I can understand her out rage if there is interest building up.

i'll get you a copy from the Wash borough library if you want.

also, check with the Thomas' ... they have their own library of sorts.

  8. Ashlee - you are, by far, the worst part of this book club.

Now on to book related topics:

I'm about halfway through the book. They just had the Ceremony of Twelves (...or whatever it's called). Crazy!

  9. when i read the part about getting skipped over ... i felt like i was in jr. high again, and cringed + shuddered = cruddered.

  10. Cruddered is a great/gross word. Good job!

Probably one of my favorite parts (and i'm not sure why) is the list of rules Jonas gets for his assignment. It's short but a good indicator of how different his life is going be from this point on. Yes?
